Galaxy SmartTag 2 review: a modernized, more practical and more autonomous tracker

In use, the SmartTag 2 connects very simply to your smartphone . Just install the free SmartThings app: check your app library, on our test tablet it was natively available. Then you open the app and it detects your Tag so you can configure it. You follow the interface to synchronize the tracker, it's very simple and quick.

 

If you wish, you can add the location and room of your Tag. A particularly interesting feature if you want to use several: it will be a good way to distinguish them later.

 

Other customization options are possible, for example adding icons. If you have to accumulate several tags, this helps you avoid confusing them.

Simple daily use of the SmartTag2

Once your SmartTag 2 is configured, you can access the geographic position of each Tag whenever you want, always in the SmartThings application.

 

If you can't find the item (because it's somewhere in your house, for example), other features are still available to you:

• Search nearby: the closer you are to your Tag, the greater the signal strength on your screen.
• Ring: the Tag emits a ringtone on command.
• Navigate: use Google Maps to suggest a route to find the Tag.

The application offers the opportunity to create routines quite simply.

 

Concretely, you can customize the action triggered when you press the button on your SmartTag (notify someone, control devices or turn on the light, for example).

NFC technology associated with Lost mode, a real plus

With your SmartTag 2, you can activate Lost Mode. In this case, NFC technology takes over and allows your SmartTag to be detected by another Galaxy smartphone. Someone who finds your Tag can flash it, get your contact information and return it to you.
